The Shenzhen Science, Industry, Trade, and Information Technology Commission (SITIC) sent a delegation to North America with the mission to promote the bilateral trade and investment between North America and Shenzhen, P.R. China. The five member delegation, including the SITIC Deputy Director General, began their mission in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and ended in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

The last destination before arriving in Los Angeles was Santa Clara, CA, where the delegation hosted the final conference of the trade mission. The conference, titled "Shenzhen: China's City of Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Galaxy of Incentives and Opportunities in the IT Industry", was aimed at educating business and community leaders, as well as anyone interested, on the possibilities that exist between Shenzhen, P.R. China and Silicon Valley. It was organized by the North American Representative Office of Shenzhen, P.R. China in cooperation with Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association. Ms. Ling Wang, the Deputy Director General of SITIC, was the key note speaker for the event.

Presenters for the event included various public and private sector representatives including Tencent, BYD, VanceInfo, and Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. In addition, representatives from Alibaba and other leading Silicon Valley companies were in attendance.

The event was concluded with a time dedicated to networking and establishing business leads. With over 100 individuals in attendance, the networking portion of the conference was a huge success, with many people making important business connections.
